Welcome to the summer edition of Stellium! I am delighted to introduce to you another issue packed with fascinating articles from fellow students.
In the Astrological Matters section we have several diverse articles, including a very heart warming and moving article by Lisa Stockley, who shares her experience of motherhood, through the lens of her Solar Return chart for this year. Also included is an article by Benedicte Gravrane who talks about the imminent ingress of Uranus into Aries. With so many major events happening, on a mundane level at the moment, politically and environmentally (Volcanic Ash as one example), it is fascinating to observe as an astrologer! I’m sure most of us in the Astrological community will have our eyes glued to the news when Uranus the maverick enters Aries the sign ruled by the warrior God on the 28th May 2010. Not only is it entering fiery Aries, a change of sign, but it is of course crossing the point of the vernal equinox, that’s at 0 degrees of the tropical cardinal cross in the sky – what a hot spot! As well as Uranus, Jupiter the planet of truth and expansion conjoins Uranus on the 6th June. As Melanie Reinhart puts it we can expect “Quantum Leaps” in our lives, so hold onto your hats and get ready for an exciting ride ahead! Next we have our Tutor Talk section which features the Faculty’s recently elected President Carole Taylor, she writes about Chiron and the role of astrologers as outsiders which is sure to get you thinking! Of course we have all the usual favourites, Sky Watch, Planetoku and Astrobabble. For this edition of Astrobabble I asked students to share their experience of their relocated charts. Relocation, which is covered in Module 8, is a very useful astrological tool. Having lived in two different countries myself, I’ve often wondered how my chart differed in each country. When I chose to go to Ecuador I knew I wanted to go to South America but I chose Ecuador completely on an intuitive level. I did not look at the astrology until after the trip was finalised and booked so I had no idea what to expect! The purpose of my trip was to volunteer with vulnerable street children in Quito (the capital of Ecuador), so I was amazed (although I shouldn’t have been) to see my natal moon (children) conjunct Chiron (wounded healer) angular on the Midheaven (career, vocation, purpose) of my relocated chart, how very apt! My Libra rising changed to Leo rising – again Leo rules children and creativity, and whilst there I worked on lots of creative projects with the children. I also hosted lots of parties in my new home in Quito, again very Leo rising. |
